Charlotte's Bistro

Mass Designers created a sophisticated destination 'bistro' dining space in a West London suburb for a successful local neighbourhood restaurant operator.

Formerly a recognised restaurant site on Turnham Green, the site was expanded with a conservatory extension and roof light. Due to site constraints, a low cost sprinkler system was employed to assist with Fire regulations and tastefully incorporated into the scheme without disrupting key sightlines.

A new bar was created at the entrance together with upholstered raised bench seating, whilst the linear internal layout combines dining benches and bespoke furniture and joinery.

The building's layout created a multi level site, with elements of the exposed structure revealed, whilst introducing a new joinery feature circulation stair in a sympathetic and stylised material palette. Dark rich Black American Walnut combined with a neutral colour scheme, porcelain tiles and the selective use of mirror has created an illusion of greater width and depth for the site.

With carefully considered lighting and bespoke joinery features, the venue offers a stunning and convivial environment to eat, drink and socialise.
