Mass Designers provided inspiration, detailed design and lots of innovation for this duplex apartment in Shoreditch, London. Part of an original printing works, we created new floor openings and a feature staircase to link two floors. The upper floor accommodates a functional display kitchen for this chef client, a lounge/ reception space and a private workspace area with feature closet.

A sweeping open guardrail and spine structure stair with open solid maple treads delivers you a landing platform and stage steps to the lower floor. The lower floor area comprises a private lounge area, with conventional guest accommodation and a sublime master bedroom and feature shower block, accessed behind a sliding solid black american walnut door.

Maple blonde timber is used throughout the main living space, whilst the master bedroom features bespoke storage and joinery elements finished in zebrano.

The master bedroom en suite bath and shower room includes a circular glass shower wall that projects into both the living area and master bedroom.

Bespoke lighting designs throughout and an adapted AV control system meant that all lighting programming and control is possible from just one hand-held device or app.
