Clinton Pritchard of Mass Designers originally designed the identity and interiors for this national fitness club chain around the UK and overseas. A new venture born from a Racquets and Health club background, Clinton worked closely with the management of this business to establish club indigo in the marketplace as a significant player from their very first club in Bradford.

Radical differences found at club indigo included a radical departure from endless rows of running machines found in gyms elsewhere, with the first radial layout being applied to the gym, with a central monitor hanging armature and combined water fountain and seating, together with dominant graphic treatment of the perimeter walls. A device also employed in the gyms was the 'indigo wall' that acted as a member's briefing station and 'branded' statement for the gym.

Changing areas were customised with unique locker designs and seating with integrated hanging rails. Grooming spaces were allocated for male and female changing.

A member’s lounge with on-site catering allowed for the creation of a sophisticated hospitality area that overlooked a substantial swimming pool and whirlpool facility. Whilst family membership friendly, these clubs deliberately positioned themselves towards an adult market, with sensitive treatment of lighting and enriched materials used comprehensively throughout, including cherrywood, terrazzo and glass mosaics.

The clubs also included Therapy and treatment rooms together with activity studios for aerobic classes and yoga/ pilates.
